A variety of organizations have implemented the Sleeping Dogs method and their work has become more trauma-informed and trauma-focused. These organizations are recognized as certified Sleeping Dogs Specialized Trauma Centres. Workers in these organizations are better at recognizing traumatization in children, are able to provide a therapeutic environment for traumatized children, can decide where to refer children that need trauma treatment and can better support and prepare the children.
Some of these implementation projects are still currently in progress: in Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (outpatient and inpatient),
Child Psychiatric Hospitals, Child Protection Organizations, Foster Care Organizations, Residential Care and Group Homes.
To become a certified organization the ICTC offers combined training and implementation packages for organizations. The packages are offered in a time period of 2,3 or 5 years. After implementing the organization will be audited.
