Have you done the training a while ago and it is a bit rusty or are your clients very challenging? Using EMDR therapy with children and young people with complex trauma can be challenging. In this comprehensive two-day Masterclass Arianne Struik will go through EMDR ttreatment from referral to closure to integrate all different aspects of using EMDR with children and young people with complex trauma.
We will start conceptualising complex case presentations from an EMDR framework, identifying memory clusters, and selecting and planning targets. Participants practice with case vignettes or bring their own cases. We will then discuss how to decide when the child can start with reprocessing and which preparation is needed. Arianne will refresh participants knowledge about Flash, Flash Forward, Future Template, CIPOS, RDI and when to use these techniques
Then we will practice extensively using the EMDR child Protocol with children in all age categories or developmental levels: 0-4 years old, 4-6, years old, 6-9 years old, 9-12 years old, 12-18 years old, including using EMDR with preverbal trauma. Through video material and case examples, we will discuss and practice how to understand, prevent and manage abreactions and dissociation during EMDR. Arianne will present on the latest EMDR research and the working memory theory and how understanding this theory can help with managing difficulties in the reprocessing phase. She will show the use of EMDR 2.0 techniques with children and young people and young people. Then we will discuss which changes to expect and how to determine whether treatment is completed.
In this Masterclass we focus on practice with case vignettes and roleplays, with some theory to refresh and update your knowledge. Would you like to be more confident and skilled in using EMDR with children with complex trauma? Join my Masterclass to practise your skills in how to apply EMDR with children and young people in all age groups.
